BIOGRAPHY

My name is Conny Linnhöfer. After an exciting career as a language teacher at international schools throughout Europe and China, I turned my passion for painting into a profession abroad. After many formative years in Shanghai, where I worked as an independent artist, my path has now led me back to Germany.

The Art of the Surface: My work is a rejection of the depth of realism. I love the honesty of the surface. On rough, unprimed linen, I create works with acrylics, stone powder, and ink that speak of tranquility and structure. My recent years in China, in particular, have sharpened my vision: My style of pointillist painting is an homage to the meditative precision of Far Eastern calligraphy.

Today I combine these experiences in my German studio and constantly experiment with new techniques – whether with classic ink pens or on unusual surfaces such as metal.
